Speaking of DEKA, here is a satellite he drew that was then lasered onto a moleskin notebook and which now resides in my truck.

Was able to catch up with DEKA again to watch him hit up Jeff’s wall. Sick sick.

Sir Owen keeping an eye on things.

Apparently, you guys like some of the app recommendation posts so here are a few of my favorites from Apple in case you haven’t found them yet.
Previously reserved for MobileMe subscribers, find my iPhone provides that extra bit of comfort for those of us who have invested big $$ in our phones. Basically if you can’t find your phone, you can log in to your apple account and locate it on a map. You also have the option to remotely lock your phone, send a messsage to the home screen, as well as play a sound that blares at full volume regardless if you had your phone set to silent or not. Finally as a last resort, you can do a remote wipe of all of your data in case you give up and accept it’s gone for good. Keep in mind, there are a few basic settings (push notifications, location, passcode lock) you will want to make sure this is effective. Also, don’t lollygag. If someone finds your phone and does a factory restore or takes out your SIM, than this is useless. It’s free, so you might as well go and get it if you haven’t.
Last New Year’s Eve, I had a party at my house and was running my iTunes to supply the music. With Remote, all of my friends with iPhones/iPods could queue the songs they wanted to hear next and play DJ for the party. I didn’t have to worry about the music selection because everyone had my iTunes library in their pocket Needless to say, this is one of my favorite apps. Remote reminds me of that Swiss army knife I have in my backpack. Half of the time I forget that it’s there, but it comes in handy often and does the job everytime. With Remote, you can control iTunes or Apple TVs that are on the same network and if you use an Apple TV, you will also be able to enter text on your iPhone or iPad instead of having to navigate the text on the Apple TV. It’s free as well.

A few months back, I wrote about my Netflix streaming DVD for the PS3. While it was cool in principle, it wasn’t all that useful and was more of a pain in the ass than anything. Since then, the good folks at Netflix have made viewing their content that much easier. First, they eliminated the need for the disc allowing for streaming directly to the PS3 over wifi, which rocked. Then they updated their iOS apps to allow streaming directly your iPhone or iPad. Definitely worth checking out, especially now that they have Banksy’s Exit Through the Gift Shop.

So when Comcast decided to re-brand themselves as Xfinity I decided to stick with them even though the name sounded like it was trying to hard to be hip. They seriously tested my commitment when they started capping my data speeds so that I would by a faster internet package. But low and behold they go and release a killer Xfinity app for the iPhone/iPad. The Comcast app I was using had come in handy more than a couple of times over the past few months, allowing me to set my DVR from afar but the new Xfinity app takes it one step further. Yes indeed, I can now change channels with my iPhone (or iPad). The future is indeed here. I can also access On Demand features, view The Guide, and some other not as cool stuff I am not going to bore you with. Go and get it here and see for yourself.

The nice thing about blogging is that you can bring stories and information to people as it happens without delay. And with that, here are a few pics from my trip to Portland over two weeks ago.

I see Enzo has been to Portland…

Last week I was able to go to IMTS 2010 in Chicago. It’s basically the largest trade show held for the people that make the stuff, that makes the stuff that you buy.

And was able to see some of Chicago while I was there.

Had a chance to watch Atlanta graffiti artist Deka (PS/AF) transform a boring white wall in my friend’s backyard to a colorful focal point and area of conversation. I had been familiar with Deka’s work having seen many of his pieces around town and was excited to get to watch him approach a blank canvas from start to finish.
And here is the “finished” piece complete with shadow and highlight details. Deka could sit here for hours detailing this piece out but the fading daylight brought things to an abrupt halt.
